Len Riley capitalizes on his senior level management experience in both the public and private sectors to help SPI clients succeed in their business. Len joined SPI in 2001 after serving for three years as Executive Director of the Texas Workers' Compensation Commission, which employs about 1,100 people at over 25 offices around the state. In this position, Len successfully restored financial controls, introduced private sector processes and lowered turnover rates.
Before entering public service, Len was the Texas Instruments site director for both its Austin and Temple sites. Len previously held several positions at TI and at various times shouldered the responsibility for human resources, facilities management, environment, health and safety, security, site finance, customer service, information resources, internal and customer training, a call center, technical publications, field sales administration, contracts and licensing services, marketing administration, external affairs, and the equipment leasing business.
Len served on the board of the State's technology agency, the Department of Information Resources, from 1999-2001 and chaired the State Employees' Charitable Campaign for the Capital Area in 1999. In 2001, he chaired a group comprised of Executive Directors of the 15 largest Texas state agencies, which met monthly for peer discussion.
Len is a graduate of the University of California at Los Angeles and a veteran of the Vietnam campaign. He is active in the community having served on the boards of United Way and the Neighborhood Longhorns program.
