The development of one of the new facilities will be approximately 60,000 square feet and located on the campus of the yet to be developed Vida site at the southeast corner of S. Zarzamora Street and Jaguar Parkway.

The medical office will be three stories tall with a floor for clinical space, administrative floor, and one floor of shell space. The chosen design firm will include the building shell and finish-out for all interior spaces including common and clinical/office areas.

The second facility will be located in the vicinity of Interstate Highway 10 and E. Houston Street. The single-story clinic will be approximately 15,000 square feet on a 4.4-acre site on the east side of San Antonio. Components include, but are not limited to, the entire site, building pad, building shell, and interior finish-out.

Both clinics will be designed for primary care services but may include pharmacy, lab and/or diagnostic treatment areas. The projects are receiving federal funding through the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 program.

The firms who responded to University Health’s procurement for design services had a mandatory in-person meeting for the projects on September 22. The response date for these firms is October 25. A solicitation will occur in the future for a construction firm.
