New city manager named for Pflugerville

James Hartshorn has been selected as the next city manager for the city of Pflugerville.

Hartshorn currently serves as deputy city manager and previously held the role of assistant city manager, and also served as acting city manager last fall. If finalized, he will succeed the current city manager following her retirement on July 1.

New assistant city manager of public works to start in Brownwood

The city of Brownwood has approved the hiring of Ryan Ward as assistant city manager of public works, following a unanimous city council vote.

Ward, in his new role, will oversee infrastructure operations including streets, utilities, and public works services, supporting the city’s long-term capital planning and operational priorities.

Lake Travis ISD appoints new director of technology, information systems

Lake Travis Independent School District has appointed Jordan Waller as its new director of technology and information systems.

Waller brings more than a decade of K-12 technology experience to the district. In this role, Waller will oversee districtwide technology infrastructure, cybersecurity, and digital learning initiatives, supporting both operational efficiency and classroom innovation across the district.

The Colony names new chief to lead fire department

The city of The Colony has hired Troy Powell as its new fire chief, bringing extensive experience in fire service leadership and emergency response.

Powell joins the city following his tenure with Princeton, where he served as fire chief, and will now oversee fire operations, emergency preparedness, and public safety initiatives for the growing North Texas community.

New police chief selected in Temple

The city of Temple has named Coy Brown as its new chief of police, bringing more than two decades of law enforcement experience to the role.

Brown previously served in leadership positions within the department and is expected to focus on strengthening community policing, improving response times, and enhancing officer recruitment efforts as he takes over the department’s top leadership position.
