  • Homeland security money is flowing to Texas for all types of public sector initiatives.
  • Cities and counties are developing budgets for 2010 and planning documents are being analyzed. Hundreds of millions will be spent with government contractors over the next year.

This is good news for government contractors. There has never been more public money available for contracting opportunities. It translates into more than $100 billion that public entities in the state will spend on private sector products and services over the next two years.

To be successful in capturing a share of this public sector contracting, however, sales teams and business owners must compete hard. Most continually search for a "competitive advantage."

For the last 14 years, Strategic Partnerships, Inc. has helped companies find and capture billions of dollars in government contracts. SPI boasts an influential team of procurement experts, seasoned budget analysts, subject matter experts and government affairs professionals. SPI has procurement consultants located throughout the state. They collectively represent literally hundreds of years of government experience and they know the "ins and outs" and the "dos and don'ts" of procurement.

Government contractors can take advantage of the experience, research and insight of the SPI Team in the upcoming Public Sector Sales Edge workshop sessions Aug. 25. The sessions will be held at the new SPI Strategic Edge Training Facility in Austin.

There will be two sessions - one for seasoned and experienced government contractors and another one for sales execs with less experience in selling to public sector decision-makers. Participants in both sessions will walk away with hundreds of upcoming opportunities and an abundance of hard-to-come-by information.

Attendees of both sessions will also receive the first edition of SPI's new monthly report, the Intelligence Edge, a document that outlines upcoming opportunities and provides background information about each.

Competition for government contracts has always been fierce. Identifying upcoming opportunities and getting positioned early are critical components of success. Many new firms have moved into the marketplace as a result of the large amount of government money allocated to contracting.

The upcoming workshops are designed to deliver a "competitive edge" and to provide participants with tools necessary for success. Space will be limited so early reservations are advised.
