Gov. Greg Abbott has reappointed three to The University of Texas (UT) System Board of Regents. Their terms are scheduled to end Feb. 1, 2031.
Christina Melton Crain is a member of the American Correctional Association and the Texas Corrections Association. She previously served as president of the Trinity River Authority of Texas Board of Directors, as a member of the Texas Public Transportation Advisory Council, chair of the Texas Board of Criminal Justice and member of the UT Southwestern Medical Center Institutional Review Board.
Among her other positions, Crain previously worked as director of the State Bar of Texas, was a member of the Texas Supreme Court Rules Committee and served as president of the Dallas Bar Association, Dallas Association of Young Lawyers and the Dallas Women Lawyers Association. Crain is also a member of the UT Austin College of Liberal Arts Advisory Council and the Dallas County Criminal Justice Advisory Board Executive Committee.
Additional past positions include serving as a board member of the Center for Missing/Exploited Children-Texas Region and as a trustee of the Dallas Bar Foundation. Crain earned a bachelor’s degree in government from UT Austin and a law degree from Oklahoma City University School of Law.
Jodie Lee Jiles is a former member of the UT Austin Development Board and the UT Health Development Board. He also served as chair of the Texas Business Leadership Council, as a board member of the Texas Southern University Foundation and currently serves on the foundation’s Executive Committee.
He is a lifetime director and former chair of the Greater Houston Partnership. He was previously appointed to the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board and was director of The Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas-Houston Branch. Jiles has a master’s degree in professional accountancy from UT Austin and a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Texas Southern University.
Kelcy Warren is the final reappointment. He oversees an extensive portfolio of energy partnerships across the nation. Warren serves on the Board of Directors for the Woodall Rodgers Park Foundation and is a member of the Horatio Alger Association of Distinguished Americans. He is an avid supporter of energy-focused programs at UT Arlington and supports numerous children’s charities. Warren received a bachelor’s degree from UT Arlington.
