Texas State University has allocated around $126 million in capital projects slated to expand its educational and hospitality footprint. Construction for the three initiatives is scheduled between 2027 and 2028.

The university plans to spend $70 million to build an on-campus hotel. The project will build a four-star, upper-scale boutique hotel. The facility will include around 130 rooms, meeting and event spaces and a full-service restaurant and bar. Construction is expected to begin in early 2028.

Texas State will spend between $32 million and $41.2 million to build the Science, Technology and Advanced Research (STAR) Park Two multi-tenant building. Construction is slated to begin in March 2027.

The 76,614-square-foot facility will accommodate multiple programs and divisions. These will include the Park/Materials Application Research Center (MARC) program, Texas School Safety Center, Division of Research and the Translational Health Research Center.

Another $15 million will go toward expanding the Student Health Center. The project calls for building a two-story, 20,000-square-foot expansion. The university will relocate site utilities, demolish parts of the existing building’s facade and upgrade the entry/lobby area. In addition, Texas State will install a new driveway, parking and landscaping. Construction is slated for 2028.
