Patrick Rhode has been appointed to the Public Utility Commission (PUC) of Texas. His term will officially begin April 1, 2026, and expire on Sept. 1, 2027. 

Rhode brings 27 years of public and private leadership experience to the role, most recently serving as senior executive for his own consulting firm. 

He has held several major government positions throughout his career. These include senior advisor for NASA, chief of staff for the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), associate administrator for the US Small Business Administration, special assistant with the Executive Office of the President and deputy director of national advance operations for the Bush-Cheney administration. 

Rhode earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Arkansas (UA), Fayetteville, and a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from UA at Little Rock.
