The North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG) has removed former Ellis County Judge Todd Little from his role as executive director.
Board members voted during the Aug. 26 meeting, narrowly passing the decision with an 8-6 count. Board Director Jim Ross called for the motion during open session, stating the following:
“I move that the executive board approve a mutually agreed separation of Todd Little’s employment agreement and employment as executive director, effective immediately, with no finding of misconduct or cause, and further to authorize payment of severance in accordance with the executive director’s employment agreement including execution of a release of claims by Mr. Todd Little.”
Little was appointed as NCTCOG’s executive director in May 2025, vacating his previous role as the county judge for Ellis County. He officially left his position with NCTCOG following the meeting with the executive board.
According to KERA News and Fort Worth Report, the parting of ways with Little came after a regional dispute earlier this year. In April, Little led the motion to remove Michael Morris from his position as transportation director for the Regional Transportation Council (RTC) after leading it for 35 years.
This decision met immediate backlash, KERA News and Fort Worth Report reported, culminating in Morris being reinstated as transportation director.
Little’s departure is among the latest efforts to reduce friction between NCTCOG and RTC, revitalizing relations following decades of well-established collaboration.
The North Texas region is anticipated to see massive growth in the coming years, with around 4 million people expected to move there by 2050.
