The city of Pflugerville will spend $10.6 million to complete the second phase of its Lake Pflugerville Park improvement project. Construction is slated to begin in September 2027.
Based on the 2019 preliminary design report, Phase 2 will prioritize a series of improvements along the north and west sides of the lake. These will predominantly consist of enhancements for recreational access and user experience.
Planned improvements include:
- Expanding the beach.
- Upgrading restrooms.
- Installing shade structures.
- Adding a splash pad.
- Introducing new play features.
In addition, the city will build a new trailhead off Silent Harbor Loop. The trailhead will include 40 parking spaces, a small restroom facility, lighting, landscaping and better pedestrian access.
The project also calls for potentially building a new boardwalk network. The pathway would weave through the existing wetlands, featuring two covered overlooks for wildlife viewing.
