Williamson County reportedly finalist to land major aerospace manufacturing hub

May 15, 2026

Hutto officials are weighing a performance-based incentive agreement for a proposed aerospace industrial campus that could bring more than $650 million in investment and more than 2,000 jobs to the fast-growing Williamson County suburb.

The project, publicly referred to as “Project Blue Hub”, was discussed May 11 by the Hutto Economic Development Corp. as part of a public hearing on potential incentives. The agenda also listed a possible economic development performance agreement tied to the project, though no public vote was taken.

City officials have not publicly named the company behind the proposal. However, reports from the Austin Business Journal identified Jeff Bezos’ Blue Origin as the company evaluating the site. Those reports described the project as a 1.3 million-square-foot campus with manufacturing, research and development, warehouse and logistics space.

The site selection process appears to be part of a broader search for a major Blue Origin manufacturing and logistics hub. Earlier reporting said the company had been evaluating sites along the Interstate 35 corridor, including locations in Central Texas. The company is also pursuing an 800,000-square-foot manufacturing facility known as “Project Horizon” on Florida’s Space Coast, raising questions about whether the Hutto project would compete with, supplement or differ from that expansion.

The potential Hutto campus would build on Williamson County’s aerospace ambitions. County leaders and Cedar Park officials approved the Central Texas Spaceport Development Corporation in 2025 to focus on infrastructure and development related to spacecraft, rockets and satellites.

The proposed facility would anchor a growing aerospace supply chain and accelerate demand for industrial land workforce, workforce training and public infrastructure across Williamson County.
