The City of Frisco is moving forward with voter-approved bond construction work.
At their August meeting, City Council members unanimously authorized the issuance of $87.8 million in general obligation bonds to fund a variety of public safety, transportation and parks projects.
The bond propositions being funded were on the May 2023 ballot.
Public safety projects featured in Proposition A include the remodeling of Fire Station 4, as well as construction of Fire Station 11 and a new fleet services and maintenance building. The police headquarters will get a parking garage.
Proposition B provides for citywide street improvements to address safety concerns and alleviate congestion.
A combined parks operations and building services building is among the items included in Proposition C, along with a logistics center containing warehouse space.
An additional amount not to exceed $60 million will be used to refund 2015 and 2016 bonds in order to achieve debt service savings, the city said.
