The Texas Department of Information Resources (DIR) has announced Michael Myers as its next digital transformation director.
Myers brings 16 years of experience working in the IT sector. He most recently served as senior director of technology for the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board. He held that role for nearly 14 years before accepting his current appointment.
Before joining the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board, he was a network analyst for the Department of Health and Human Services for two years.
Myers graduated from St. Edward’s University with a bachelor’s degree in computer/IT administration and management.
DIR oversees technology deployments throughout state and local government entities. Their responsibilities include analyzing cybersecurity risks and solutions, providing policy and guidance strategies for IT statewide and procuring and distributing reliable and secure technology solutions.
