The Addison City Council is advancing into the final design phase for a $14.3 million project to reconstruct the Airport Parkway streetscape. Bidding is expected to open soon, with construction anticipated to begin in summer 2026.
Originally approved as part of the 2019 bond election, the newly authorized design agreement will enable the city to move the project beyond the 90% design stage. The project has been paused while a separate road construction initiative is underway.
The project limits stretch between Addison Road and Dallas Parkway. The reconstruction will fully replace the existing asphalt road materials with concrete.
The city will take the opportunity to upsize water, wastewater and drainage utility systems in the area. Additional work will consist of installing new traffic signals at Quorum Drive and Airport Parkway.
The project will prioritize improving the area’s landscape and streetscape. Details also include implementing ADA and pedestrian infrastructure improvements and adding a continuous turn lane along the roadway.
