Austin selects tenured city leader as homelessness strategist
Chris Anderson has been named the deputy director for Austin Homeless Strategies and Operations. Anderson will oversee four critical departments functions, including policy and planning, street outreach, public space management and shelter operations. He will bring nearly 20 years of experience with the city in various capacities to the role.
Taylor announces promotion for tenured city leader
LaShon Gros has been promoted to managing director of administrative services for the city of Taylor. Bringing years of experience with the city, Gros will primarily guide the modernization of the human resources department. She holds several degrees that support her future work from Columbia Southern University.
San Antonio names new director for public works
Juan Ayala has been appointed as the next director for public works for the city of San Antonio. Appointed by City Manager Erik Walsh, Ayala will guide the city’s efforts to improve public facilities and services. Ayala, a retired Marine Corps major general and previous director of military and veteran affairs, will bring decades of experience to the role.
Promoted leader to guide Taylor’s parks and recreation
Tyler Bybee has been promoted to managing director of community services for the city of Taylor. Bybee joined the parks and recreation team in 2021, and now, will guide future efforts to modernize and improve essential services for residents. He previously worked for the city of Leander, Brushy Creek Municipal Utility District, Texas Tech University, the city of Lubbock and the Boys and Girls Club of San Angelo.
