His most recent public sector tenure was managing director of strategic partnerships and industry relations for the Division of Environmental Services in Maryland. In that role, he was charged with leading collaborative initiatives and linking public sector executives, private sector partners, and stakeholders statewide.
Prior to this position, Steve was managing director for the Maryland Department of Commerce. In that position, he was responsible for leading teams focused on growth and retention of existing businesses as well as overseeing all efforts to attract and bring new businesses to the state. Steve also was actively engaged with elected officials, state executives, county officials, municipal leaders, and private-sector parties. He oversaw incentive programs, tax credits, workforce efforts, and promotion of overall business growth within Maryland.
Prior to his government experience, Steve spent a decade in the private sector leading local, regional, and national sales and marketing teams within the wireless and broadband industry.
He holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Maryland.
