Michael Austinson is a business development associate with Strategic Partnerships, Inc. (SPI), supporting the firm’s research division under the guidance of senior and junior managing consultants. In this role, he assists client teams with market intelligence research, data analysis, and strategic briefings related to state and local government initiatives.
Michael is currently a sophomore at the University of Texas at Austin majoring in Government with a minor in Business. Prior to beginning his academic career, he served six years in the United States Marine Corps, where he developed leadership, operational planning, and cross-functional coordination experience through domestic and overseas assignments. During his military service, Michael served as an assistant detachment commander for the American Embassy in Oslo, Norway, and Muscat, Oman, with an extended international service history at embassies in Sri Lanka, Malawi and Hawaii. His background reflects a strong foundation in structured analysis, disciplined execution, and mission-driven performance.
At SPI, Michael applies his combined experience in government studies, business strategy, and military leadership to support research initiatives and contribute to the firm’s mission of advancing informed public-private collaboration across infrastructure, technology, and economic development markets.
