Jesus A. Torres has joined the Strategic Partnership Team as a Research Analyst. He previously served in the area of policy analysis for the Texas House of Representatives, where he supported legislative staff by drafting evidence-based policy recommendations, conducting policy evaluations, and assisting with communications.
Jesus has also worked as a research assistant with a non-profit government association in Washington D.C., where he conducted empirical research on the Child Tax Credit law and coauthored on a published column highlighting the study’s economic findings and policy implications. In addition, Jesus completed internships with the Council on Foreign Relations’ New York office and the U.S. Department of Commerce in Washington, D.C., contributing to projects related to global business, trade, and economic analysis.
He holds a master’s degree in public affairs from the Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs at the University of Texas at Austin and a Bachelor of Science in Economics from Texas A&M University. He has experience in and has participated in focused studies on data science and policy analysis. Jesus is also a 2023 American Economic Association Summer Program Scholar.
