Felix Medina Alvarez III, a native of San Antonio, holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree from Southwest Texas State University and a Master’s degree in Public Administration from the University of Texas at San Antonio.
Most recently, Felix served as an Assistant Vice President at The University of Texas in Austin and was responsible for the Offices of Procurement, Business Contracts, Payment Services, and the Historically Underutilized Business (HUB) and Small Business (SB) Programs.
Prior to moving to Austin, Felix was the Executive Director of Procurement at University Health System in San Antonio. In that position he was responsible for centralized procurement, contract administration and sourcing operations. Before his role at University Health System, Felix served as the Senior Director of Procurement and Supplier Diversity with the North Texas Tollway Authority. During his tenure he led efforts to streamline business processes and implemented cost-savings initiatives related to best practices. Felix’s background also includes working with the San Antonio Independent School District and the City of San Antonio as a Contracts Administrator and Contracts Officer, respectively.
