Thirty years of developing skills in both the public and private sectors at the convergence of law enforcement and information technology has given Bob Burroughs a unique perspective that he shares with SPI’s clients.
Bob spent 30 years with the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), the state’s law enforcement agency. In addition to his work at DPS relating to issues such as regulatory and safety programs, his IT experience includes management of a variety of related projects. As a project manager, he was involved in vendor management, project scope maintenance, communication, and risk mitigation. He was also a part of software and hardware development efforts for programs within the agency. His ability to interface with both users and developers to create application requirements, monitor application development, and perform user acceptance testing, makes his expertise valuable to both government officials and private-sector vendors.
After leaving DPS, Bob entered the private sector as a consultant responsible for assessing statewide IT project status. He has also been employed by a major private sector IT solutions company, working with clients to develop and document future business processes.
Bobs holds a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Wayland Baptist University, and he attended the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Standards and Education, Graduate Management Institute.
