Ashley Alvarado

Ashley Alvarado is a Business Development Research Associate at SPI.

She previously served as an Administrative Clerk and Research Associate for the Texas House Research Organization during the 88th legislative session, where she supported nonpartisan bill analysis for the daily floor report and managed certain Texas House administrative projects, such as the Legislative Staff list. Additionally, Ashley completed two internships on Capitol Hill with the U.S. House of Representatives, contributing to foreign policy research, speechwriting, and agency correspondence.

She holds a Master of Public Affairs from the LBJ School of Public Affairs at The University of Texas at Austin, where she was a Class of 1983 Fellowship recipient and co-chaired the 29th annual Barbara Jordan National Forum. Her Policy Research Project (PRP) focused on Clandestine Migration in South Texas, where she analyzed the different phases of migration, risks associated with migration, and facilitators of the migration process.

Ashley holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with minors in Sociology and History from Texas A&M University. While at A&M, she served as the College of Liberal Arts caucus leader in the Student Senate, founded the F.A.C.E. mental health initiative for student-athletes, and contributed as a lifestyle and features writer for A-Line Magazine.
