William Ehrie

To understand the military, it helps to have served in the military. Retired U.S. Air Force colonel, William “Bill” Ehrie is SPI’s military issues expert. His career in the military provides him with an insider’s view of federal and state government agencies, as well as private-sector firms that deal with the military on a regular basis. He knows what the military wants and what the military needs. Because the military operates so much differently than most other federal agencies and organizations, military rules and regulations can sometimes be difficult for private-sector vendors to traverse. Bill’s military expertise provides valuable information for SPI clients seeking to break into this lucrative marketplace.

Bill was appointed by the Texas governor in 2003 as chair of the Texas Military Preparedness Commission. In addition to his role on the commission, Bill is also president of the Abilene Industrial Foundation.

He holds a bachelor’s degree from Manhattan College and a master’s degree from the University of Southern California.
