Community Resources Division

The Community Resources Division of SPI works with cities, counties, economic development organizations and other public entities throughout Texas by helping them capture untapped federal, state and private sector funding for special projects and economic initiatives.

The State of Texas appropriated more than $2.5 billion in competitive grant dollars for the 2008-2009 biennium. The federal government provides grant funding, legislative earmarks and direct funding that often reaches $100 billion to cities, counties and regional coalitions each year.

Identifying the appropriate source of funding can be an arduous process. With SPI as your partner, our team of former elected officials, city managers, economic development professionals, political strategists, researchers and grant experts in Austin and Washington, D.C., can handle the job. We focus on addressing your unique financial needs, developing a strategy and then overseeing the entire process to secure funding from both state and federal sources. We’re your outsourced agents and our mission is to deliver the funding you need.

Once engaged with a community or region, SPI offers additional services such as legislative monitoring, strategic planning, unique problem-solving and advocacy if there is a need.

If you could use additional funding for special projects, let SPI’s team of dedicated experts help you find and capture the funds you need.
