Dr. Omar S. Lopez is a consultant specializing in K-12 and higher education, and studies best practices, educational policy research and program evaluation. He has been program director for the Center for College Readiness at the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board and directed the evaluation of the Texas Academic Skills Program.
He also is a former educational policy researcher for the State Board for Educator Certification and educational policy researcher for the Division of Educator Assessment and Appraisal of the Texas Education Agency. He has done both national and international educational research and assessments.
Lopez holds a bachelor’s degree from Trinity University, master’s degrees from the University of California at Irvine and the University of Southern California at Los Angeles and his Ph.D. from The University of Texas at Austin.
