Nearly 30 years served in state agencies makes Leonard Olson an expert in state government, and brings years of working with both state and local government officials to the SPI team.
Leonard began his public service career with the Texas Water Development Board in 1979. He held a variety of positions until leaving the agency in 2003, developing strong relationships and a broad understanding of both state and local government. While at the Water Development Board, he served as director of support services, special assistant to the executive administrator and deputy executive administrator for administration and governmental relations.
Leonard later spent four years with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, serving the agency as director of intergovernmental relations. Over his career, he has developed expertise in both environmental and regulatory matters.
Leonard is a veteran of the U.S. Army and holds a bachelor’s degree in biology from Jacksonville University, Florida.
