Larry Olivarez, Sr. is a veteran lawman who brings more than three decades of experience in law enforcement to his position of senior consultant for Strategic Partnerships, Inc. Olivarez most recently was sheriff of Nueces County, a position he held for nine years. Prior to his work in county law enforcement, he spent 22 years with the Corpus Christi Police Department as an officer and then sergeant. He also was a Texas Certified Crime Prevention/Community Relations/Community Policing Specialist and Public Information Officer.

As an officer with the police department, Larry worked closely with other city employees and served them as chair of a city employee credit union board. He also worked with elected city officials and public school leaders to promote programs for youth in the community.

An instructor for the National Crime Prevention Council in Washington, D.C., Larry also has received training at the National FBI Academy. He has served as an officer and board member for a variety of statewide law enforcement and crime prevention organizations, which has helped him develop relationships with law enforcement officials at all levels in a variety of government entities – from college campuses to county sheriffs to federal law enforcement officials.
