Insurance database officials launch letter campaign
. . . continued from page one
The letters will be written in both English and Spanish and sent to motorists whose vehicles have been unmatched for at least 60 days. The letter will give recipients the insurance information on file with the database and guidance to help the recipient determine the reason the registration and insurance information do not match. Those receiving the letters will be able to respond by mail and to call a consumer help line for assistance.
The TexasSure program plans to begin a second phase of the letter campaign in early 2010 when notice will be sent to owners of registered vehicles that appear to be uninsured. More information on the program can be found at www.TexasSure.com or by calling the consumer help line at 1-800-252-3439.
