Krause named to CPA's Property Tax Assistance Division

      . . . continued from page one

Krause was elected Comal County's tax assessor-collector in 2000 and 2004.

The newly named division will continue to provide technical assistance to local school districts and county appraisal districts to help them comply with property tax laws and provide more outreach and education for taxpayers.

Revisions are also planned to the annual Property Value Study (PVS), which measures the taxable value of property within school districts, and then is used to determine the amount of state funding distributed to Texas school districts. When possible, additional adjusted property sales data will be used and fewer property appraisals will be conducted for the PVS.
