Four of the propositions ask voters to approve $6.75 million in debt, including $500 million for student loans, $1 billion for construction and repairs for state facilities, $5 billion for highway improvements and $250 million to build water and wastewater facilities for some impoverished areas of the state.
Also, a separate state proposal would fund a $3 billion foray into cancer research.
In addition to the state ballot, voters in cities, counties, school districts and other public entities have an array of issues to consider including city council elections, referendums to increase sales taxes for economic development and crime control and a combined $9.6 billion in city, county and school bond packages.
