Mariann H. Morelock's extensive understanding of state and local government, procurement practices, public information laws and legislative issues makes her extremely valuable to the SPI team. Mariann has been able to combine a government background with her unique skills in efficiencies and processing to enhance the research services and products that SPI provides to clients.
Prior to being named Director of SPI's Information Services department, Mariann worked as an Account Executive in SPI's Consulting division for four years. In this capacity, she developed strategic plans, conducted major research projects and served as an advocate for her clients.
Before joining SPI, Mariann served as Special Assistant to the Speaker of the Texas House of Representatives for four years, functioning as the primary contact for both legislators and constituents. She developed working relationships with elected officials, agency chiefs, lobbyists and constituents to help ensure that the Speaker effectively carried out his vision. During her tenure, she was involved in almost every aspect of office operations and legislative matters.
Earlier, Mariann served as Operations Manager for a statewide campaign where she managed staff and volunteers, participated in fundraising efforts, supervised the collection and storage of contribution records and developed a statewide organization plan.
Mariann holds a degree in Government from the University of Texas at Austin.
