As both the former mayor of the City of Nacogdoches for eight years and a Nacogdoches city commissioner for 10, Judy McDonald brings to the SPI consulting team nearly two decades of experience in the inner-workings of local government. After a successful local government career, Judy spent another 11 years as president and CEO of the Nacogdoches Economic Development Corporation, continuing already-established relationships with officials in both the state and federal government to further economic development projects in the East Texas area.
Judy also boasts experience in finance and healthcare, having served as community relations director for a Nacogdoches hospital for eight years and as vice president of marketing for 10 years for a Nacogdoches financial institution.
Active not only in local government, Judy’s ties to state government resulted in her appointments to the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs Board, the Governor’s Commission for Women, the Criminal Justice Advisory Committee and the Texas Natural Resource Conservation Commission Advisory Committee.
Judy earned a Baccalaureate degree from Stephen F. Austin State University and also attended Lamar University and Louisiana State University. She is a graduate of the Texas Savings and Loan School and the Economic Development Institute.
