Ellen Kimbrough brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the public education team. She most recently served as the academic dean for a charter school in Dallas where she was responsible for faculty development and stakeholder communication. Prior to that position, Ellen served as an English/Language Arts and Curriculum Consultant for Region 10 Education Service Center (ESC). In that role, she focused on the research and development of workshops for K-12 teachers involved in literacy efforts as well as oversaw the 3-Tier Reading Model Project for 15 campuses in the ESC service area. During her tenure in the education field, Ellen has also served as a Literacy Coach for the National Academy for Excellent Teaching in New York and a classroom teacher at North Lamar, Georgetown and Elgin ISD. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Southwestern University and a master’s degree from Columbia University.
