Don Rogers

Don Rogers has over 45 years of experience in public education and is well known and respected throughout the state. Don oversees education issues for all SPI clients and directs much of the research undertaken by the education budget and policy analysts at SPI.

Don brings a wealth of information, experience, wisdom and knowledge to the SPI Team. He has been at the forefront of every major education issue in Texas for the past two decades and has held a variety of positions in education.

Don not only understands the educational issues and knows the decision makers in Texas, but is also well acquainted with the history, budgeting process, purchasing protocol and trends. Over the years, he has served as a Teacher, Principal, Programs Director, Assistant Superintendent, Superintendent and the Executive Director of a statewide educational association.

Don has received many honors in Texas. He served as Superintendent for the Eanes Independent School District in Austin for 17 years and was named "Superintendent of the Year" in 1984 and 1990 by the Region XIII Texas Association of School Boards. Don also received the honor of "Administrator of the Year" by several different associations in 1982, 1983, and 1991.

Education has not only been Don's career, it has been his life. As a result, he is a member of too many professional and civic organizations to list but a few major ones include: the Texas Association of School Administrators, Texas Association of Community Schools and Texas Rural Education Association.

Don has a B.S. in Education, M.S. in School Administration and ED.D. in School Administration.
